Hey I’m Grant!
I figured this page might be helpful for anyone wondering, WTF is The Southern Shmooze!? I’m an open book, so I’ll put it all out there for you. My name is Grant, and I’ve lived in Atlanta for the better part of 20 years. I started The Shmooze in 2020 because I saw a need for neighbors to find reliable and trusted businesses to work with. Most of us were stuck at home during the height of the pandemic, so I had the time to start a Facebook group and see where it went. Well, suffice it to say, the group took on a life of its own and grew, much to my surprise! Six years later, it’s still going strong, and I’m stoked that I’ve been able to help out Atlanta in a small yet significant way. So if you were curious if The Shmooze was run by some big fat cat cooperation, nope! It’s just me and our small team of admins : )
I wouldn’t be here without our neighbors giving The Shmooze a shot, so this is a huge community effort, not something I’ve done by myself. That said, I’m always open to feedback and constructive criticism. That’s what this group is all about. I own three businesses of mine own so I very much understand the pressures and stress that comes with such a career especially when it comes to finding customers. I’m only hopefully The Shmooze is here to help alleviate that a little bit.
